Maple Class 2019 - 2020

Miss Monks

I am delighted to have joined the team at Whitegate as the class teacher of Maple! Having taught previously down South, it's lovely to be back local and starting a new adventure with Year 1. In Maple we see each day as an opportunity to learn while having fun. It's place where we can learn from mistakes and celebrate each other's successes. Outside of school I enjoy being part of a drama group and looking after my many plants.

We are collecting resources to make our own 'bug hotels' in D.T.
If possible, please can your child start to collect/bring in:
straw, moss, dry leaves, woodchips, old terracotta pots, old roofing tiles, bricks, old logs, bark, pinecones, sand, hallow bamboo canes or any other natural materials you find! We will be able to store any donations in school by the greenhouse. We hope to make our bug hotels week beginning: Monday 3rd Febuary.

Prodigy Maths: Each child has their own username and password stuck into their reading diaries. Prodigy is an online maths game personalised by Miss Monks and linked the UK National Curriculum. This will be updated as we cover each topic in maths.
